Neil Kemp Sensei

Neil Kemp sensei started Iaido in the mid 1980's learnign All Japan Kendo Federation Iaido under the initial tutelage of Don Harvey sensei. He opened an Edinburgh Iaido dojo in 1986, where he gathered a group of students, one of which was John Honisz-Greens.

Neil sensei has also studied Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu for over 40 years first through Don Harvey and also Fujii Okimitsu sensei - and Japanese Kendo and Iaido sensei resident in the UK; then following the lineage of Haruna Matsuo sensei from Okayama, who visited the British Kendo Association Summer Seminars to support the growth of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu in the UK.

In 1995 Neil sensei met Iwata Norikazu Sensei Hanshi 8 dan, who had visited the UK for the first time with a group of support teachers. It was at this event that Eikoku Roshukai was formed and over time and with diligent study under Iwata sensei, Neil sensei became the senior instructor for the Eikoku Roshukai group.
